Giant plans 26 new and remodeled or expanded stores during the next 12 months, with:
- Much larger produce departments and salad bars
- Gourmet meat shops featuring Ready to Cook entrees and Nature's Promise natural meats
- Expanded delis with deli vision, Fresh from the Chef store-made entrees, and salads and expansive cheese departments
- An expanded variety of natural and organic foods
And we're adding entertainment centers featuring books, magazines and DVDs; Staples office supplies, along with your Giant Pharmacy, and a new convenient meal area.
Company History
When Giant Food LLC was founded in 1936 in Washington, D.C., skeptics said that "supermarkets" would never catch on. Today, the company serves the Baltimore/Washington area and Delaware and includes about 21,000 associates. Giant has been a member of the Royal Ahold international family of fine grocery stores since 1998.
